Calling All Poets! - Submissions Are Now Open!

THE ROSE is calling for submissions of poetry to be included in our third pROSEpie! Spoken Word Concert to be presented at historic Glen Echo Park in Bethesda, Maryland on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.

The theme for this year’s spoken word concert is UNCOMMON BLOOM.

We seek poems that are nature-focused and fill our senses with the writer’s connection to the natural world … awe, hope, fear, humility…

We lean towards poetry that is new, free form, and unpublished. Create something special. Just for us. We thrive on that energy. Perhaps your jam is clever verse or Haiku or lyrics. Channel your inner Emily Dickinson, Bob Dylan or Dorothy Parker and send it along. We look forward to reading your work!

SUBMISSIONS OPEN: Monday, October 14th, 2024

DEADLINE for Submissions: Sunday, December 1st, 2024

HOW TO SUBMIT: Use the form below.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY.

INCOMPLETE SUBMISSIONS WILL NOT BE REVIEWED.

The body of the form MUST include a short biography telling us about yourself. We prefer poems that are no more than 24 lines or up to one page in length. If the poetry or lyrics you are submitting has been previously published (internet or print) include a list of where it was featured. You can cut and paste your submission (ideally less than one page long) directly into the body of the form. You may submit up to 3 pieces. Please use only ONE contact form for up to 3 submissions.
